One of the most successful and beloved musicals in the world – THE BODYGUARD – THE MUSICAL, comes to Bulgaria with seven performances from October 3rd to 7th in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. In the role of Frank Farmer we will see Olivier Award nominee Adam Garcia, and as Rachel Maron – the world-famous Sidonie Smith.

Based on the 1992 Warner Bros. hit of the same name, nominated for an Oscar, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, and written by Lawrence Kasdan, the musical brings to the stage one of the most memorable love stories in modern cinema. Directed by Thea Sharrock and with a libretto by Oscar winner Alex Dinelaris, the show debuted at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End and quickly became a sensation, with four nominations for the prestigious Olivier Awards and a series of sold-out tours in the UK and Ireland.

The storyline follows the story of former secret agent Frank Farmer, hired to protect world star Rachel Maron from an unknown pursuer. Both are used to controlling everything around them, but not the feelings that gradually arise between them. Tense and emotional, this stage story combines romance and music in one captivating experience.

The performance features some of Whitney Houston's greatest hits, including - Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest hits of all time - I Will Always Love You.

Adam Garcia

Among the leading names in musical theater, Adam Garcia has been nominated for an Olivier Award twice for his roles as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever and Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me, Kate. On stage, he has also appeared in productions such as Wicked, The Exorcist, The War of the Worlds and 42nd Street, and most recently in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. On film, Adam Garcia has appeared in Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, Coyote Ugly, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Riding in Cars with Boys and more. He recently reached the final of the UK show The Masked Dancer.

Sidonie Smith

An established name on the European music scene, Sidonie Smith has already captivated audiences as Rachel Maron in Germany, earning critical acclaim. Her other stage credits include roles in Disney's Tarzan, West Side Story, Cabaret, Chicago, Sister Act, Aida, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll and Hyde, Legally Blonde, RENT, as well as roles in the German tours of Sweeney Todd and Memphis.

To date, THE BODYGUARD – THE MUSICAL has been seen by over 3.9 million viewers in more than 15 countries, including the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, South Korea, Canada, Italy, Australia, Spain, France, the USA, Austria and Japan.
