A SUMMER NIGHT WITH MATTEO BOCELLI IN ATHENS

The long-awaited concert of Matteo Bocelli will take place at the Pallas Theater in the heart of Athens.

A few days before his arrival in Athens and at the Pallas Theater, a venue that perfectly suits the style of his songs, Matteo Bocelli confides in us stories from his personal life.

A sensitive creator, charismatic, the young 27-year-old Matteo Bocelli proves to be an artist who interprets with dynamism but deep emotion the songs he chooses for his concerts.

In a recent online interview that he gave on the occasion of the one and only concert he will give in Athens, he answered with clarity, honesty and consistency to questions regarding his music, life and relationship with his father Andrea Bocelli.

Matteo Bocelli at Pallas will present a program with songs from different genres of music that he loves. Songs that he has released in the last three years, but also classical songs, a large part of which defined him. He is very happy to come to Athens. "I hope this time to have the opportunity to visit and get to know your beautiful country, Greece, better," he notes. "There are many, very beautiful things in your culture."

Son of Andrea Bocelli, Matteo was raised in music – opera and classical – taking many lessons, as he himself said, from his father. "My father has given me his knowledge," he says, "He is a role model for me and I respect him." Besides, the surname Bocelli and the references to his famous tenor father, Andrea Bocelli, do not scare him. He moves forward, keeping his advice and experience and with the legacy of the success he has just begun to taste, but also the talent that, as he explains, is the combination of an "innate condition and a lot of work."

Matteo Bocelli loved and loves the voices of Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra, while he has the singer and composer Ed Sheeran as his role model. "I love, admire and am inspired by Ed Sheeran." He is my musical mentor, he says. I want to perform his songs in the best possible way, some of which I include in my concerts. A unique artist and a great talent."

As for the future? "I prefer to live in the present," he says bluntly. Matteo started playing the piano at a young age and very early on realized that music was his calling. “I always loved music, ever since I was a child,” says Matteo. “At the age of 16, I realized that music became more than a passion, it became the essence of my life.”

The axis on which he works and enjoys life is “making people happy and smiling. When I succeed, I become happy too.”

His desire is to continue creating and enjoying every minute, always investing in people. “When you are yourself, when you are honest and authentic, you win,” he believes, and every time he is about to collaborate with someone, “I look the other person in the eye and if they can truly communicate with me, I continue.”

He hopes that his first solo appearance in Athens will create close ties with the Greek audience, to whom he wants and promises to give unique moments.
