Sadek Berabach's dance phenomenon MURMURATION is coming to Bulgaria in 2026

An ode to collectivity, harmony and human geometry is visiting the Ancient Theater in June with two performances

A performance that has enchanted millions of viewers around the world is coming to Plovdiv for two unforgettable evenings at the Ancient Theater. BG Sound Stage presents MURMURATION, the multi-award-winning work by innovative French choreographer Sadek Berabach – a unique artistic phenomenon that has impressed audiences and critics with its spectacular aesthetics, mathematical precision and deep emotional power.

The performances will be on June 27 and 28, 2026, at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv.

Inspired by the natural harmony and the geometric movements of flocks of birds (murmuration), Berabach’s work translates this phenomenon into a choreography of absolute synchrony and visual magic. With 30 dancers on stage, moving with the “variable geometry” technique and through the emblematic tutting (a dance style based on geometric movements of the limbs), MURMURATION becomes a living work of art – a depiction of the super-sensory harmony that can arise in collective action.

For the Plovdiv Ancient Theater, Sadek’s creative team is preparing special video material, created for projection using the projection mapping technique – a modern visual intervention that “communicates” with the ancient stage.

The performance is not just a dance show, but an experience of deep collectivity, spiritual synchronization and emotional impact. Every movement, every rhythm, and every form is crafted with precision and aims to evoke a sense of unity, balance, and belonging—elements that the modern era is in dire need of.

Sadek Berabach has established himself as one of the most innovative artists in contemporary choreography, with millions of views on social media and collaborations with Shakira, Chris Brown, the Black Eyed Peas, as well as appearances at prestigious events such as the Grammy Awards and the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games broadcast ceremonies.

MURMURATION represents the culmination of his creative journey—a work that merges technique with soul.

Since its premiere at the Théâtre Le 13e Art in Paris in April 2023, the show has been met with rapture, with more than 300,000 spectators and over 200 sold-out performances in prestigious venues in France, including the famous Zéniths. The international tour continues with stops in Europe, the Middle East, Canada, China and the Caribbean, establishing it as one of the most significant cultural events of our time.

He participated as choreographer in the show FALLING | IN LOVE at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin, adding a unique geometric dimension. The production is distinguished by impressive scenographic solutions, opulence and costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier, decorated with Swarovski crystals. In addition, Berabach works closely with Christian Louboutin, taking over the choreography of the spectacular Le Loubi Show III on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the red sole, presented at the Opera Comique in Paris (Fall/Winter 2023 collection).
